It makes sense that certain hairstyles are related to specific ethnicities, hair feel and so forth. Nonetheless, it's hair, especially in a movie game, shouldn't have to worry about offending somebody with every hairstyle and other style option, Reversing the situation does not really work because lots of natural black hairstyles such as locs/afros are deemed"unprofessional" and not allowed in certain schools/jobs/etc due to the way they look. Black people frequently need to style their own hair shinier or in difficult/inconvenient ways so as to be seen as professional. Individuals without textured hair don't need to experience all of that - as long as my hair is clean, dressed, and not dyed, I can fit into most jobs' dress codes together with my own hair styled pretty much the same way it grew out of my head.

Clearly the hairstyle wasn't deemed incorrect when it had been included in the match, therefore deciding to punish a player for not holding to outdated office criteria in a game seems completely irrelevant.A balanced perspective of cultural appropriation demands nuance. Nuance demands circumstance. The net rewards lack of context and virtue signaling. Added to this, the impersonal nature of internet communication (even visually presented in video, by way of example) means that our normal human tendency to assume that the worst in others may spiral / snowball.

I had been in the Twitter animal crossing community around the time this occurred. I recall reading a enormous twitter thread"exposing" Fifi of being a repeatedly problematic animal crossing player, changing usernames constantly after being prohibited, and screenshots along with testimonies of racist and other problematic behaviour. If I remember properly, minimal evaluation was obligated to prove that the entire thread was a lie and proof was made to fuel the mob against her. The new pack of hairs introduced into the game were meant for cultural addition for AC fans, imo. I think the buns seem like afro puffs rather than space buns, but a hate mob wasn't vital. I essentially unfollowed all creature crossing accounts and assessed out of Twitter for a little while out of this. Too much drama for such a very simple and healthful game.
